A mother's torment.

Grace had her 2-month immunisations today. Up until the needles went in (three of them! One in one thigh, and two in the other), she was smiling heaps. Then came the crying. I almost cried, too. And I was so nervous this morning before our appointment. I love my little girl so much, the thought of her in pain is unbearable. It made me think about how much God loves us. He's the author of love, He IS love. It must pain Him so much more when we hurt!

My husband and I went on a date last weekend. We left Grace with my Mum, and went out to eat sushi, drink coffee, and go to the movies. We saw Casanova. It was good to get away from it all, but every time I'd see a mother with her baby, I'd miss Grace. But it was fantastic to have some husband time again.

I haven't been on the internet for two weeks. Both of my emails have over 100 unread messages. I get so much junk, but it'd take too long to unsubscribe to everything.

I hate that part of the appointment, but I just tell myself that I'd much rather see her get a few shots and cry for a few minutes than get really sick and be miserable for a lot longer.

Glad you got some time with your husband. That's always nice to have (even when you miss the baby). :)

It never gets easier seeing their tears. Even when you're the one inspiring them, seeing those drops fall is enough to make you fight back your own. It makes displine hard sometimes. "Ok, fine, take back the toy, just don't cry." Umm, but you can't say that so you just do your best to comfort without caving.

Motherhood is amazing for it's ability to intensify every emotion at the same moment.
